TRAUMA INFORMED
ONLINE THERAPY

ADAM WIESNER, PHD.

Full member of Czech Association for Psychotherapy

In my private therapeutic practice, I integrate postmodern approaches based on collaborative conversations with a more interoceptive focus on somatic experience. With genuine compassionate inquiry, I help clients understand how early trauma has affected the way they perceive and experience the world around them and themselves in it. As a non-binary identified therapist, my aim is also to provide queer/trans affirmative online safe space for all. Clients do not have to identify as queer/trans to benefit from trauma informed approach. Every topic and every motivation for individual therapy is valid.

Consultations are possible in Czech and English

More about me

I spent nearly ten years in academia before entering private practice. During my doctoral studies in social anthropology, I began a comprehensive training program in solution-focused therapy. My postdoctoral research experience in autoethnography led to a deeper focus on postmodern practice and reflexive writing. After several years of practicing postmodern therapy, I felt the need to study more about the connection between nervous system and early/developmental trauma. My personal experience under the mentorship of Irene Lyon MSc. with working with trauma, i.e. as survival stress trapped within the nervous system, has helped me better understand the inextricable "mindbody" connection and its underappreciated healing potential.

Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going inside of ourselves.

With a conscious attempt to contribute to contemporary discussions in mad/trans/queer/monster studies, the monograph approaches complex postmodern theories and contextualizes them from an autoethnographic methodological perspective.
As the subtitle reads, the book introduces several topics as revelatory fields for the author’s self-exploration at the moment of an intense epistemological and ontological crisis. Reflexively written, it does not solely focus on a personal experience, as it also aims at bridging the gap between the individual and the collective in times of global uncertainty.
